Tiered Special Occasion Cake Play Food Set by Melissa and Doug Review & Giveaway!CLOSED

This giveaway has ended! Congratulations comment #251 Jessica

Toys are necessary for every child. Which toys they have is up to the parents though. I am big on learning and educational toys that actually teach my child something. Puzzles, books, pretend play, games and dolls. As well as this I’m always on the lookout for high quality toys. I do not want toys that will harm my child but I also want to make sure it will last until they outgrow them and they will not just be thrown in a corner and forgotten about. Melissa & Doug products offer this and so much more. I know when I purchase the wooden toys and puzzles, my kids will enjoy them, they will last a long time, and they will be safe for my children. Zoe and my niece Ray Ray are really into role playing with play food right now, and I have to say its a joy to watch. One of them will be cooking up a storm in the kitchen while the other is grocery shopping. Then they will sit down, and eat their meal. It’s a blast observing them playing together(when they are getting along.)

Therefore when I had the chance to review the Tiered Special Occasion Cake Play Food by Melissa & Doug, I jumped at the chance. This three layer wooden cake is full of fun for children. This play cake is just like the real thing. Top it with a bride and groom for a fun wedding cake, or a bouquet for someone special. The cake comes on a cake stand with doily and has a cake server to take the slice of cake out and place on plates for the “guests”. In Zoe and Ray Ray’s case, the guest always is me and their dolls. The pieces have Velcro all around to place the fun toppings on top or on the side, so the little baker is sure to make one special cake. The cake is great for hand/eye development. This includes 20 mix n match toppings and is made of high quality wood. But this cake is different as well and not just for pretend play. It will teach your child educational skills as well like learning patterns. For instance. The toppings have three different patterns on them, a rose, bouquet and a heart. You can actually place these face down and have a blast playing the match game, something Zoe loves to do. We enjoy counting the toppings as well. The cake has been a huge hit in our home and the daycare kids as well. We take turn baking and making the cake and let me tell you many smiles come out of this toy. This is the only time the kids can actually play with their food, without mom, aunt Nichol, or just Nichol saying “stop playing with your food!”

Right now all Melissa & Doug toys are on sale and priced at 20% off. Make sure you check out Melissa & Doug Toys Sale and pick up high quality, educational toys that last. If 20% is not enough for you, they even have an amazing sale where all Melissa & Doug Play Food is Buy three get 4th Free….so be sure to check that out here as well. You could pick up the kids some play fruit or vegetables, fridge play food, stir fry play and so much more.

Do your kids still play with it? My budget fairly tight these days…would I be better just buying a regular play food set from Melissa and Doug?

Thanks for your review…if I had money I buy all these kids play foods sets

    • Hi Judy,

Yes my daughter is now four and still loves this toy. When my niece and nephew are over they play. There are small pieces though so it’s not recommended without supervision. Hope this helps.
