Love is in the air! Yes Valentine’s Day is just 2 weeks away which means lots of yummy baking, an incredible dinner, Valentine’s Day cards, 80’s love songs(I’ll be making a post on this soon) gifts, hugs and kisses, and love. Valentine’s Day means a lot to me as I said in the post about my adventurous Valentine’s Day gift, I’m hoping to receive. Although, we do not decorate or home, I will say crafting and baking is high on our list. This kids love making fun kid’s crafts for Valentine’s Day(it’s all there mommy can do), and I actually really enjoy cutting out hearts, using tissue paper, red, pink and white paint and paper. It’s fun. Baking is also an enjoyable family activity, when it’s easy. Who doesn’t love all the chocolaty treats, cinnamon candies, and gift boxes filled with assorted chocolate flavors. This Valentine’s Day Nestle is here to help with their Valentine Friends Sugar Cookies which are easy, convenient, not to mention cute and offer something a little different.
With the Valentine Friends Sugar Cookies you can share 12 different holiday designs delivered on an adorable character or shaped sugar cookie.
I was sent a kit to review with my family and we had a blast creating some delicious cookies. We did receive two free product coupons for the Valentine Friends Sugar Cookies, but the stores in my area do not have them yet, so we are still waiting. We did however decide to create a recipe inside the activity book that I am going to share. There are also money saving coupons inside the booklet. The activity book arrived inside a cookie tin, which also included stickers for Valentine’s Day and Easter and the two free product coupons. I shopped for all the ingredients to make super easy Huggable Hearts Cookie Cups. This recipe is a tad different from the book so I’ll give my version.
Milk Chocolate Hearts Cookie Cups Recipe:
1 package (16.5 oz.) Nestle Toll House Refrigerated Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar Dough
1 10oz package Milk Chocolate Hearts
1 cup Nestle Toll House Premier White Morsels
Mini paper liners
Preheat oven to 325F. Place 24 mini muffin liners onto a baking sheet, and add one square of dough into each muffin liner, pressing in to make a well.
Bake for 15 minutes or until the cookies are golden. Cool completely. Gently press a milk chocolate heart into the center of each cookie. Place morsels in small heavy duty plastic bag. Microwave on medium-high power for 1 minute. Gently massage morsels until completely melted.
Snip a tiny corner from the bag and drizzle melted morsels over the hearts and cookies. Makes 24 cookies for all to enjoy.
This recipe was so easy because of the convenience of the Nestle refrigerated cookie dough. Baking has never been a favorite of mine, but with these they are all ready for you. Just open the bag, take out the square of cookie dough and you’re finished. No need to mix anything. Convenience is something I’m always looking for. It’s fitting for us busy moms, to have quick, easy recipes. If you would like to see the original recipe which uses gummy hearts, visit Very Best Baking for that recipe.
