Umi Children’s Shoes Review and Giveaway

I believe it is only natural that we women admire shoes. But not just any shoes. For me shoes have to be comfortable. It’s the number one thing I look for, and then fashion. However, I do not want an unattractive pair of comfortable shoes. My closet is filled with pairs that conform to my feet perfectly, never making them tired. I want the same for both of my kids; comfort, style and a shoe that will fit their feet. One company that does all this and more is Umi Shoes.

Founded in 2004, Umi makes only children’s shoes, so they know exactly what we as parents want for our children. Not the flimsy shoes that hurt our kids feet, or shoes which weren’t made for kids. Correct! Zoe and I browsed around the pages of girl’s shoes to see which pair we would want. Zoe being the tentative three year old that she is, made this very difficult. It was not an easy decision. Finally, we came up on the pair of Molly which she immediately told me “that pair mommy.”

This  mary jane style shoe is a bright fuchsia which happens to be one of her favorite colors. If I allowed her to wear bright pink in all the apparel and shoes she does wear, she would, without any questions asked. Not only are they adorable and chic the top of them have holes which resemble the wingtip shoe, and a colorful butterfly bow. The bow has contrasting color of metallic finish as well as matte which makes it stand out more. Each detail is what makes this a great shoe. The shoe is made of nubuck, which if you haven’t ever felt it is almost like velvet. This leather is extremely soft; you wish Umi would make adult shoes. Once Zoe had them on she didn’t want to take them off. She will tell you they are nice on her feet, and comfy. The soles are rubber but what I like about them is the thickness. Our kids play and they play hard, which means protection and traction is needed. We do not want a thin sole that is going to ruin after a few times playing or a sole that will cause them to slip easily. This sole is definitely durable as well as flexible, which is needed for our children whose feet are growing daily. We want them to have happy, healthy feet.

Umi Shoes are constructed to give our children ample room to grow in to. I ordered a size bigger because I wanted them for spring and summer. They are a little big now, but I’m glad she will have them for the entire season to play in. They are fashionable, so she can wear them for the next two seasons for play or dressier occasions.
