As a mom ambassador I am here to share with you some great products, new products and more from Gummy Lump.  Today I would like to  introduce you to a product that not only my children have been enjoying, but the daycare kids, as well as I the mom, and teacher. Of course, it’s more Melissa & Doug toys!
melissa and doug shape sorting clockThe Melissa & Doug Shape Sorting Clock is a high quality wooden clock that is complete with colors.  Not only will you be able to help your children tell time, with the brightly colored clock with the minute and hour hand, you can teach them their shapes and counting from 1-12.
Melissa and Doug Wooden ToysZoe has really enjoyed identifying the correct place for the shapes on the clock.  To aid her the numbers are on the block shapes as well the clock.  When she locates a block we then say which shape it is.  For instance the 12 is a star, the five a pentagon and so on.  She has also enjoyed lining the numbers up on the floor.  During her counting exercises, I will say find the one and she’ll place it on the floor and we will continue doing that.  She has been grasping plenty with a wooden toy, which doesn’t say a word, requires no batteries, and is all visual and hands on learning, which I love.

melissa & doug wooden shape sorting clockNot only has my three year old been appreciating the Melissa & Doug clock, Gavyn has been telling time considerably well.  He knows most of it but still gets baffled on the terminology of quarter past, half past, and quarter to although we say quarter of.  The center of this clock has a pie shape with the wording on the correct number.  I will move the minute and hour hands in different positions, and he states the time.  There is also a ring for the seconds with dots and the numbers for every five seconds.  Gavyn has also enjoyed being the teacher.
