Gavyn is at the age where he wants to learn everything. While he has never expressed an interest in playing sports, that changes when the white fluffy snow starts falling here in New York. He wants to head to the hills to sled, learn how to ski, go tubing and get on a pair of skates to learn how to glide on the ice. He absolutely adores cold weather sports and finds them thrilling. Dad and I sit there shivering watching him play for hours in the snow, and now Zoe is showing the exact same interest in snow sports and playing out in the snow.
While we have some beautiful ski resorts here and one of the largest in Western NY, fantastic trails for snowmobiling and an abundance of hills to go sledding down, Park’s Edge Park City looks like the place we should visit for winter activities, and soon. This beautiful area has some world famous slopes which may be to big for us amateurs, but it would still be a blast trying them. Not to mention the scenery as our family zooms down the mountains in tubes.
This may definitely be in our future or we could possibly visit often as they have gorgeous vacation homes. Relaxation is something our entire family needs, and a second home to visit year round is a discussion we have had. It will not be immediate however we have already looked at many areas in the United States.
Do your children enjoy playing in the snow and if so what is their favorite winter activity?
We don’t get snow too often but when it arrives the kids are out in it all day! It’s like a holiday when it turns white over here!

He is really young still, so not sure, but he’s not a fan of swimming or the sun, so hopefully the winter snow entices him
being that we live in Calgary you’d think winter activities would be right up our alley. The mountains and ski resorts are NOT our thing….My daughter however, can’t wait to learn to skate!
