I have a little girl, which means I am sure to see every new doll that hits the shelves. Whether I first see them on TV, in a catalog or strolling down the aisles in stores, Zoe is sure to let me know she wants them. She has a large collection of dolls, so when we were in Walmart a month or so ago, a huge display case featured the Lalaloopsy Silly Hair dolls. She picked up the box and threw it in our cart and said I want this. I took a look at it and new this would be a hot holiday toy this season. Although, we did not bring her home, I made sure to keep her in mind for Christmas. Luckily, we had a chance to review Lalaloopsy Jewel Sparkles. When she arrived Zoe’s eyes popped out of her head; she was “sew” excited. I did not tell her she was coming, so this was a huge surprise for her. Taking her out of the box was a chore but when we finally got her out we noticed she was heavier then a basic doll. She is a plastic doll, with a small body, large head, crazy bendy hair and fun details. Her eyes look like buttons, a mouth and cheeks that look stitched and is wearing a pink fabric dress. She is also sporting pink maryjane style shoes with a pink bow and attached socks which are removable. Her head turns fully around as do her arms, and her legs are bendy so she is able to sit. However, because of her large head and the plastic bendable hair she will not sit without support or without something behind her.Now onto Jewel Sparkles hair, which is why she is a silly hair doll. She arrives with ten hair accessories, a round brush, and her pet cat which also has a plastic bendable tail which can be accessorized. Zoe immediately went to salon mode creating fun hair styles. The styles children can create are endless. Wear it straight, curl it with the brush(or your finger), make it twisty, place it in up-dos including buns, braids, pigtails or anything else, just use your imagination. Add the provided beads and bow barrettes and Jewel Sparkles is ready for the day. The barrettes did break but they easily go back together. Don’t forget her pet, who wants to have accessories as well. This doll will be hot because children age 4 and up can do their hair without any assistance from an adult. How many times has your child come up asking you to style a dolls hair? Countless in our home. Or how many times has your child brushed a doll, or pony, or Barbie and the hair becomes stuck in the brush or becomes extremely tangled? Not with the Silly Hair Dolls. Their hair will never become tangled, or knotted. She is durable, cute and isn’t large(only 13″) so she can come along on trips away from home. I have to say as a 31 year old mom, I have been picking her up(probably a little too often) to style her hair. It is the only way I’ll ever become a beautician;)I like that each doll has a stamp on them with their birthday and a tag that explains the doll. Jewel Sparkles was sewn from a real princess dress and her personality is graceful ‘n’ a bit bossy. Hmmm sounds so familiar to Zoe:)

The Lalaloopsy were once rag dolls who magically came to life, when their very last stitch was sewn. Each doll has their own personalities that come from the fabrics that were used to make them.
