Christmas Toy Ideas For Toddler Boys

Toddlers are always fun to buy for, because they pretty much like anything that is put in front of them.  From the entertaining dancing interactive dolls, ride-on toys, building sets and more. Boys love anything that goes vroom vroom. Here is a list of toys for toddler boys.  If you still have a baby on your list be sure to check out my list of Christmas gifts for babies before shopping.

Toddler Boys Age 2-3

I’m trying to think back to Gavyn being this age which is difficult, but he was very mobile by now, causing all sorts of mischief, going up and down stairs, imagination like you wouldn’t believe and enjoyed building with blocks and puzzles.  green toys dump truckAt this age he wanted every play vehicle there was and tools to be cool just like daddy.  He was also interested in arts by this age and learning his ABC’s and basic numbers.  I wanted to help him along.  There are a few wonderful ideas you can get toddler boys, including the very cool Viking 15-Piece Chubbies Bucket. This is an item we had for a long time. The bucket is filled with an assortment of vehicles and perfect for little hands. Sticking with vehicles the Green Toys Dump Truck would be another great gift as this vehicle is safe and made 100 percent from a recycled milk jug here in the USA.
tag junior reading systemIf you have a book worm on your hands, I highly recommend the Leapfrog Tag Junior reading system. This award winning system enables your child to hold the book pal, and explorer the pages of the junior books with sounds, reading and more.  We have had ours for two years now, and it is still played with on a daily basis.  New books can be purchased separately. You can never go wrong with books.  Good choices? Goodnight Moon, The Very Hungry Caterpillar Pop-Up Book, and Guess How Much I Love You.

For the builder or one who enjoys puzzles, you can purchase many different constructions sets, but look for colorful and wood like this 100 piece building block set, or the very classic Alphabet Blocks. The Melissa & Doug shape sorting clock is a fabulous puzzle and teaching tool.  Teach time, place the pieces in their correct places, numbers, colors and more.  We even reviewed this fabulous clock, so it is highly recommend here on KiddiesCorner Deals.

Still need ideas?  How about chunky puzzles, pull toys, first train, chunky crayons,  clothes, and learn to dress dolls.

Toddler Boys Age 3-4

take apart craneRole playing is happening more, boys want to get out and ride on their first bike, and educational toys again are wonderful picks.  Construction toys are great picks by this age, as they can use their hands a little more easily.  Take a look at the Take Apart Crane which is fab for hand/eye coordination and encourages imaginative play. Automoblox cars are another great choice as children can take them apart(like a puzzle) and place on the tires, people, windows and other parts. These are durable, high quality wooden toy vehicles available in many styles. This is a top pick here on KiddiesCorner Deals, as we have reviewed these twice here. Read our review.

Building is still encouraged but look for more advanced building blocks including magnetic blocks, locking blocks or blocks with gears.  A great choice would be Locktagons as they encourage open ended play, are bright and colorful and wonderful for beginners.

lacing toysDon’t forget about arts and crafts. Kids love getting messy with paint, adhering stickers(to everything) and coloring. You can get them an easel to keep things a little less messy, sticker pads, stamp pads and kits which include scissors, paper, and other necessary items for crafting. Beading and lacing is also great choices for hand/eye coordination as well as fine motor skills. Gummy Lump is your go to shop for everything arts & crafts.

And just because you have a boy, doesn’t mean they can’t pretend with play food. The pizza party set, sandwich making kit, and ice cream making kits are great for boys. Boys love food and these are fun to make believe with the cutting tools and other items included. If you are not interested in pretend play food, how about a doctors kit, tools, animals and insects or play tents.

Games For Toddler Boys

Our family is huge into games with many different games to play with them.  Classics like Candyland, Chutes and Ladders are always fun and memorable.  How about hop scotch, bowling and the game of Memory.

Hot Holiday Toys this season include Sesame Street Let’s Rock Elmo, Power Wheels Dune Racer, Fisher-Price Disney’s Rock Star Mickey, and the Disney Cars bike and finally the Paper Jamz Pro Mic Series.
