I have been fortunate all these years to have smooth skin, however the winter wrecks complete havoc on my skin.  My hands, elbows and knees become so dry and cracked and my thighs, stomach and feet itch.  This is not comfortable when you are in bed trying to sleep and you want to rip your way through your skin due to the extreme itching. It has been so aggravating that I’ve broke skin and bled which has resulted in medical treatment.  It is irritating and drives me insane.  This is definitely not an enjoyable skin symptom to have but many do have this common problem.  I’ve learned to deal by not scratching and performing many at-home beauty regimes to relieve symptoms such as oatmeal baths, purchasing body washes which say “relieves itchy skin”, and massaging my body in lotion which contains oatmeal.  While I am addicted to lotions especially ones that make me smell amazing, there are times I have to have effective products which help my dry, irritable skin.  Eucerin products are products I have bought for years that have improved my symptoms.

Eucerin offers gentle and effective skincare for face and body and are dermatologist recommended.  If you are not familiar with Eucerin you may know one of their products, Aquaphor, which was a lifesaver when Zoe was a baby.  Eucerin has products which are designed to calm, moisturize, repair and soothe.

I had a chance to check out the Eucerin calming line of products which are not new to me.  The calming line of products relieves dry skin, moisturizes and are gentle.

Eucerin Calming Body Wash is daily shower oil which is clinically proven and effective for dry skin.  I have never used this shower oil before so was eager to try it.  This does come out as an oily substance, so you won’t see bubbles like a body wash.  However, once applied to the skin you will notice a mild lather.  The shower oil is soap-free and fragrance-free so your body gets moisturized.  I liked how gentle this cleansed and how soft and silky my skin felt after applying and rinsing off.  There was no oily feel to my skin.  This formula is enriched with natural omega oils to protect skin.

Eucerin Calming Itch-Relief Treatment is a product I have been using my entire adulthood for my uncomfortable itch symptoms.  This lotion has cooling menthol which practically soothes immediately.  Also containing Colloidal Oatmeal which is proven effective in common skin irritations.  When you first apply this lotion, it may feel wet slightly greasy, however allow it to absorb fully before placing clothes on.  A little goes a long way, and it does apply easily.  You will notice a difference in how your skin feels.  This formula has always soothed my skin in the evenings which has helped in falling asleep.

Eucerin Calming Crème Daily Moisturizer is ideal for those with dry itchy skin.  Also containing oatmeal, this crème is non-greasy and moisturizes skin effectively.  This has been a lifesaver on my elbows, feet and face.  It makes skin feel like silk and you will notice this after just a few uses.   It goes on smooth, is fragrance-free and is highly effective.

Products are a bit pricey but well worth it.  I have found relief in the winter by using Eucerin and so has my mom.  Products do not have a pleasing smell, and may even turn some people off, but again if you have dry itchy skin like I do, this is definitely the product line to try.  I notice an elimination of chapped, dry skin within a few days.  However, using the calming crème on my hands I notice immediate relief.  I recommend using these especially in the evening.  I like to shower quickly in the evenings, and apply to my skin while it is still damp, however they can be used any time of the dayJ  Products are also safe for children.
