This year I thought things would slow down a bit as both of my kids are in school full-time. Boy, was I mistaken. With running errands, grocery store, visiting family, volunteering my time at Zoe’s school, cleaning and helping my husband who had back surgery a few weeks ago, all I want to do is come home, put my feet up and relax. However, that isn’t going to happen as I prepare delicious homemade dinners for my family 6 nights a week. Many meals I prepare have some type of sauce so being able to use Progresso Recipe Starters definitely made for fuss-free preparation. The day these arrived I was going to prepare my easy cheesy scalloped potatoes with ham and knew the creamy three cheese would be ideal for this recipe.

Next up was the Creamy Portabella Mushroom. We love beef stroganoff in our home so I prepared their easy weeknight beef stroganoff which was quicker than my regular recipe.
The starter has small pieces of Portabella mushrooms, a creamy white dairy mushroom flavor with herb/white wine. I’m not a mushroom fan, but this was a delicious alternative to my homemade stroganoff.
The fire roasted tomato left me itching my head. Did I want to try a homemade tomato soup using this as a base, a pasta dish or something else? I finally decided on my easy baked goulash. The sauce is rather thick similar to puree accompanied with roasted caramelized tomatoes, oregano and bell peppers. The flavors were fabulous! To prepare this make my hamburger goulash recipe omitting the tomato sauce and pasta sauce and replacing with a can of the Progresso Fire Roasted Recipe Starters. Top with mozzarella and bake in a 350 oven for 20 minutes!
I haven’t tried the other two yet, as I have a huge family get-together coming up and will be preparing chicken fettuccine Alfredo with the creamy Parmesan basil and the creamy roasted garlic with chicken stock. It is going to be a large crowd pleasing meal where I’ll be combining the two recipe starters. I’m pretty excited about the recipe and will be sure to post in the future.

- 2 lb Russet Potatoes-baked
- 2 T extra virgin olive oil
- ½ cup onion-chopped
- 2 celery stalks-diced
- 2 garlic cloves-minced
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon celery salt
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
- 1 can Progresso Recipe Starters-Creamy 3 Cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups ham-cubed
- Heat oven to 350 and lightly spray with cooking spray a 2 quart casserole dish.
- In a large skillet heat oil over medium heat.
- Add onion, celery, garlic and seasonings.
- Saute 7 minutes
- Add milk, soup and potatoes. Stir 1 minute.
- Fold in ham.
- Bake 25 minutes, remove let rest 10 minutes.
