Zoe and I are big Just Dance fans in fact we have every Just Dance video game for the Wii that is available! As a busy mom they are my way of maintaining my weight. I enjoy dancing on a daily basis to any of the games, you don’t realize the calories that are being burnt plus they offer good quality time with your children.
Just Dance 4 by Ubisoft is the newest dance series where players mimic the dance moves on the screen and points are earned based on how well you dance. Just Dance 4 satisfies with chart topping hits such as Call Me Maybe (Carly Rae Jepsen), Disturbia (Rhianna) and What Makes You Beautiful (One Direction) to name a few. Not familiar with these songs? You may enjoy I’ve Had the Time of My Life or Jailhouse Rock. There is definitely a genre for any music style you enjoy with over 40 songs from country to dance, funk, R&B and more.
Just Dance 4 is very similar to the earlier versions. You’ll want to choose a song from Just Dance Mode and show your rhythm. When dancing, players will mimic the on-screen dancers to score points for each move. This scoring is based on missing a move up to perfect! I am crazy and give it my all when I dance. My body moves like I’m a dancer in training! It is a lot of fun, so get wild and you may just earn a gold move! Gold move=high points.
Just Dance Mode
In this mode we created a dancer card, which basically is a card customized for you based on age and style. It shows your dance stats, progress, common style and calories lost when playing Just Sweat Mode-more of that in a moment. In Just Dance mode you can choose several modes including Dance Crew, allowing you to choose a dancer and each players has a different dancing experience or Duets where up to 4 people can play!
We like that we are able to choose our dancer now. I am already getting ready for our dance competition when family & friends arrive at my home for Thanksgiving. Last year we all had a blast seeing who could score the most points, and embarrass ourselves a bit. Nevertheless, it is fun! During the Just Dance Mode you earn mojo after each song you dance to. The more dance quests completed, the more mojo you receive. Each dance quest has 6 missions for each song. Succeed at the quests and increase your mojo to unlock new content!
Once you mojo bar is full, you’ll pass the level and get to spin the wheel of gifts. The wheel of gifts turns, you press the Wii button and your prize will be revealed. We loved seeing a new game mode for Call Me Maybe pop up the first time we accomplished this, a nice surprise. Players can also earn prizes such as alternative choreographies, dance mash-ups and dancer card avatars. Dance mash-ups must be unlocked to play. Like in previous games dancers mash-up songs for different dance routines.
We haven’t unlocked the new battle mode which is new to Just Dance 4. But we cannot wait to battle it out once unlocked. Also alternative choreographies must be unlocked to give you more of a challenge with more difficult dance moves for your favorite songs.
Fitness at Its Best
Just Dance 4 has been fabulous for my daily workout routine. Just Sweat Mode is the perfect fitness class for free. Workout programs can be 10, 25 or 45 minute sessions and does adapt depending on your energy. There are different routines such as sweat around the world, cardio and extreme training, so depending what type of workout you want, it will be there. I do like how it tracks the energy for your next song. So if you aren’t energized the next routine may only be cool or if you are working your hardest you’ll get an intense dance for the next round.
It does begin with a warm-up and ends with a cool down, much appreciated. I am saddened playlists have been discontinued with this version. Calories are also tracked in real-time so you know how many calories are burned during your workout. This will be handy when I’m burning off lemon meringue and pumpkin pie that I’m likely to indulge in for three days at least. I have been using this daily and love it. I can choose something different daily so I’m never bored or challenge myself with longer sessions. Get ready to box, kick and move your body to burn those calories…beware you may be sore the first few days.
Oh and don’t forget you can purchase and download exclusive tracks through the content store which is available on the main menu.
I highly recommend Just Dance 4 for all the music dance fans in your home, even you! This in my opinion is the best of all of them. The music is fabulous and the improvements are well liked. Dancing is a great way to relieve stress, stay fit and have fun with everyone in your family! Buy Just Dance 4 on Amazon.

I have an older version of this game and we have Just Dance Kids. I stink at them both, but they’re fun and a really good workout on the days that I can’t make it to the gym or zumba.
looks like fun! i got the older version for my nieces a few years ago and it’s their favorite sleepover activity with their girlfriends. maybe i’ll get them this new one for christmas this year ?!
This is so fun! Great pics. I really want to get a “Modern” console so I can play these type of games. I’m a big DDR fan so I think this would be perfect for me!
I don’t have Just Dance 4 yet! I need to check it out!
It is so cute that you guys do this together! I love that!!!!! I have no doubt that it’s awesome exercise, but I’ve never tried because I totally stink at coordination and I certainly wouldn’t try it for the first time in front of others. Maybe I should just buy it and practice all alone?
Oh how fun! I love the action shots! My daughter adores Just Dance. She’d love this. I’ll have to add it to her list.
I ordered this for my daughter yesterday during the Best Buy sale. She won’t get it until Christmas but I can’t wait to give it to her.
BTW, love the paint color on your walls.
We have many Just Dance Games in our house as well! My daughter and I enjoy dancing around and having fun, they really are a great workout!
I think I have Just Dance 2 and I love it! I had no idea they have came out with more since then. I’ll have to add this to my Christmas list.
