I have said it hundreds of times on my blog and will say it again, our family are huge supporters of kids construction toys. From a very young age both of my children were building with blocks. Basic ideas at first with just stacking and tumbling, which lead to more imaginative ideas such as buildings, vehicles, people and much more. Gavyn loves Lego’s, pulls them out often to create masterpieces. Sure we have sets that have instructions, but imagination and open-ended play is what building toys are all about. Pieces lock and snap together to create anything the heart desires. Sometimes he chooses all one color, or builds with his sister to bring awesome teamwork to design a work of art. Have you heard about the new building sets from Cra-Z-Art called Lite Brix? Lite Brix are super cool bricks and connectors that make your model light up once built. We couldn’t wait to build our guy and illuminate him.
We received the Lite Brix Space Trooper that includes different shaped translucent light brix, connectors and special pieces to build a 3-D construction toy. For the Space Trooper it took my 10 year old about 15 minutes total to build him. He appreciated that the brix had multiple ports as well making it easy to build. They have feet and ball joint pieces to create the feet and legs. Then it was onto building the mid-section, arms and head. Stickers are also included to make him even more nifty.
Once he was built we added batteries (3 AAA not included) to the battery pack and plugged it into the trooper. There is a connector on the battery pack which plugs into the Lite Brix ports on the back of the model. Gavyn was so happy that on the first try he worked. He always gets a little worried when reading instructions, but the outcome is always fabulous!
The changing illuminations brought many oohs and ahhs from the kids plus pretty, cool and how does that work from the kids mouths. This set has two models that can be built the Space Trooper and the Space Alien. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos of the alien but he was neat as well. Here is a short video to show you him-please forgive me, I’m not sure why he is sideways!
These would make fabulous gifts for boys or girls (age 6+) who enjoy building blocks. For more information visit www.cra-z-art.com Products range in price starting at $23.99 and Tare available at Toys R Us stores nationwide, Barnes and Noble and select other retailers.

My children both grew up loving any kind of building set as well, they are great toys. I love how this one lights up! My son would have loved it when he was younger!
Both of my boys are asking for these for Christmas this year!
My son absolutely loves it!!!
Oh wow that looks like one awesome toy! I know Hunter would love love love it!
Oh Goodness what a great toy. I will have to find this for my boys. Thanks!
It’s like Christmas in robot form. That is sooooooo cool!!!!
My grandsons recieved a Litebrix set for Christmas. The box says that the recommended age is 6+. I beliee the + should be about 25 years and a Masters in Engineering if you want to put this thing together. A 6-7-8-9-10——-20 year old CANNOT. This toy is a total waste of money. DO NOT buy it. You will foreer regret it. The parts do not fit, a child cannot master the pieces, and the instructions were designed by a moron-(yes, designer, you are a moron).
Hi Bob,
I’m sorry you had difficulties, however my 10 year old had no issues at all besides the chest armor which wanted to keep falling apart. Until my husband looked at it and realized he had a part wrong. I hope LiteBrix see’s this and can reply to your difficulties. Thanks for the feedback and happy holidays!
