Holiday Gift Guide nanoblock Mico-sized Building Blocks Review & Giveaway

Filling the kids Christmas stockings is always enjoyable for me. Stocking stuffer gifts are easiest as no wrapping is involved, gifts are small and inexpensive. I fill the kids stockings with crafty items such as crayons and markers, a holiday coloring book and reading book, toothpaste and toothbrush, hair accessories, candy, chocolate, DVDs and some smaller toys. One of the smaller toys I was able to check out this year and had no clue existed are nanoblock by Ohio Art, micro-sized building blocks ideal for children who enjoy construction toys. There are many nanoblock sets from animals, holiday themed such as Santa and snowman, instruments, buildings like the elaborate White House, air craft and more.

We received a nanoblock violin to check out which arrives with easy instructions to build. If you have a child who loves a challenge, these would be great for their stockings. I’m a big supporter of building blocks because of the hand-eye coordinating, following instructions and math skills that are gained.

Our nanoblock violin was built in about a half hour and stands about 4″ tall. Gav did most of it but needed some help from dad, which was difficult due to his large fingers and the tiny pieces. The violin sits on a plate and you’ll even build a bow! This set is so detailed from the ribs, pegs even the strings made from clear plastic nanoblocks. They look like other plastic building bricks such as LEGO however much smaller. Because of their minute size they look great once finished on dressers, night stands even in your home as a knick knack.

I am ordering more for Gavyn as they are a bit too detailed and complicated for Zoe. Very high quality educational building blocks that will possibly become a new hobby.
