Holiday Gift Guide Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Action Figures & Shellraiser Vehicle Review

***Due to the popularity of the toys they are very hard to find or prices have increased.  Today (11/28) I was in my local Walmart store and there was a HUGE display.  Check your local stores as well:)***

My older brother was a big fan of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collecting all sorts of figurines, watching the cartoon and had favorite apparel sporting the Ninja Turtles. I admit, I played battles with him often. Since I am now a parent to a 10 year old son, the gang is no stranger in our home. The new popular animated series that was released this fall on Nickelodeon is a favorite of Gav’s so when we had the chance to check out the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys by Playmates Toys he was ecstatic.

If you have fans as well you’ll want to check out this new line of toys that include action figures, vehicles and role play gear this holiday season. This fun line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle toys will keep boys occupied. We received Donatello and Leonardo action figures which arrive with weapons so your turtles can battle the evil Foot Clan such as Shredder and Kraang.

The turtles are on the same team; Ninja Turtles, so children are going to want to collect them all. These guys are well made and very detailed with more than 12 points of articulation. Each one is uniquely sculpted to capture the individual personalities such as muscles showing, fab facial expressions, signature bandana and are equipped with weapons such as swords and blades which are held on their backs. They have large feet so stand exceptionally well. We have already picked up a few more for Gav’s stocking this Christmas. I can see collectors wanting to get their hands on these. They are sturdy and realistic for action figures.

With them we received the Shellraiser, a street to sewer assault vehicle. Assembly is required for the vehicle and TMNT action figures do not arrive with this. Once we got all the parts assembled (very easy) I was thrilled with everything this vehicle offers. There is a door that opens on the side and a bar that attaches so the turtles can hang from this. Once you rotate the action figure on the bar, push him back inside and close the door, hit the release button and watch him 360 kick his enemies. There is also a projectile that goes into a launcher that fires a great distance and a top hatch for turtles to go inside.

The top has sewer pipe bars for the turtle to grip onto as well. The front door when opened is a ramp with a foot peg for the the figures to protect their vehicle and the back bumper barrels are removable to use as shields.

Although, this is a plastic vehicle, we have had no issues with anything breaking and Zoe has pushed this around the house on a daily basis. It is very durable. Once your collection is built the inside of the vehicle is large enough to store 8 action figures. It is 14” in length and 7” high so a good-sized vehicle for the turtles.

The only thing I dislike is there are no seats inside, it is all open so you just basically shove the Ninja Turtles inside or you can make them sit by bending their legs. A few seats or benches would have been a nice addition.
