My husband has recently decided to stop clean shaving his face and go for a more manly look, and I must say I’m loving it. I have a thing for bald men; Vin Diesel, Bruce Willis, Georges St. Pierre and Jason Statham to name a few. My husband began to go bald 6 years ago, I mentioned this in our BodyGroom Pro review, since that day he has shaved his head bald. Because of this, he rather keep his facial hair growing out, keeping it trimmed for a stylish look. He has never used an electric razor although has discussed getting one numerous time. After long research we decided on a couple however we recently had the opportunity to check out the Philips Norelco SensoTouch 3D 1250X, a wonderful product for men to keep their facial hair clean shaven, trimmed or stubbly.
The SensoTouch 3D 1250X is a lightweight, stylish wet dry electric shaver. First off, you’ll need to charge the unit on the included charging stand for about an hour. This charging stand has a suction cup on the bottom and will stand in an upright position. The razor also displays a charge meter to monitor the amount of battery power that is left.

Using this took a bit to get used to since he has never used an electric shaver but after a few tries it was simple. The shaving unit has three razor heads that open for cleaning which are the hair chambers that capture the hair when shaving. It also has a protective cap. To shave you’ll turn the unit on by pressing the on/off button conveniently located on the unit and begin to shave the facial hair. For my husband we shaved his neck area and cheek area to remove the long stubbly hairs.
You can shave straight or in circular movements. Once using you’ll know what way you’ll need to use it to remove hairs best. With its three-dimensional contouring heads, they adjust to the contours on the face. It was comfortable to hold and because it is cordless, there is no need to worry about cords tangling. You can even travel with it as there is a travel lock so the razor won’t turn on. The first few times my husband used it it took longer to remove the hairs, but he says it is well worth it.
Being able to use a razor dry is wonderful. I had no irritation anytime while using this, and it came natural. The first couple of shaves took a little longer than I’m used to, but you’ll love the convenience after your groomed. 2-3 minutes tops is all it takes to keep my beard trimmed now. No need to fill the sink with water or by pricey refills for blades for my current razor. I don’t even need shaving cream now unless I use it in the shower. It may be pricey but it is well worth it. My skin feels and looks great, and is the closest shave I’ve ever had. It doesn’t pull hairs or hurt in anyway. It is comfortable to shave, and I no longer worry about cutting the rough skin on my neck. I have also been using this on my head. To keep my head hair smooth, I have to razor it. This isn’t safe and is time consuming. On a daily basis, I run the SensoTouch over my scalp to remove the stubbly. My head has been baby smooth for weeks now. This would be a great gift for the men in your life!
There is also a trimming tool to groom sideburns, mustache and beard. The trimmer slides forward and when the unit is on the trimmer is ready to be used. This worked well for getting his beard straight, much easier than a disposable razor or large hair trimmer (which we normally use.) It is a bit small, but worked well.
Cleanup with this is a breeze as most of the hairs are caught in the hair chamber. You should clean after each shave by rinsing thoroughly with hot water or using the provided cleaning brush. Cleaning will ensure a close shave each time.

I’d love to get one of these for Christmas. This is the type of shaver I prefer (rotating) and it looks nice. The suction cup on the stand is a great idea and that alone would probably double its lifetime.
