Post brought to you by GNC, all opinions 100% my own.
Changing my lifestyle has been the most vital thing I could do for myself. I was no longer respecting myself, my self-image or feeling at all pretty. I understand that having a fit body isn’t about who you are, however I was feeling tired, frumpy and lazy because of my body image. I had to change for myself to feel happy once again, and that is exactly what I’ve done by exercising, removing junk from my diet and eating healthy. I feel amazing.
I recently entered the GNC, ME ON GNC contest where GNC is asking individuals to share photos and videos of their own personal health or wellness success story. The ME ON GNC contest is a nationwide photo and video contest celebrating individuals who embrace self-respect by living a healthy lifestyle through this fun visual competition that will encourage others to embrace their own success in health, fitness and overall wellness, all for a chance at winning $25,000!
I knew I had to enter and entered with my before/after photo with a story. Go check out my ME ON GNC photo submission.
I have had numerous doctors and surgeons tell me my only option to lose my belly/excess skin, would be a tummy tuck. They were absolutely wrong. Putting the right foods into my body, exercising and drinking water has made it practically disappear. Does that mean I don’t get cravings for foods we all love? I crave a lot of foods especially now that the temperatures have warmed up. Ice cream, milkshakes and chocolate baked goods are foods I love and don’t think I could live without. Instead I improvise.
For ice cream I’ll enjoy ¼ cup vanilla ice cream topped with apricots and coconut. Milkshakes I like to add skim with banana or strawberries with protein powder and lots of ice for that milkshake consistency. And I enjoy Jillian Michaels fudge brownies when I need a cake fix. Just because I am eating healthier doesn’t mean I have to remove the stuff I love. But huge bowls of fresh fruit, yogurt smoothies and clean baked goods are my go to desserts now and controls the sweet tooth I have.
For a quick, low-fat and healthy milkshake I like to use GNC Total Lean Lean Shake 25 in Rich Chocolate flavor. This is fab with mixed berry as well!
Per scoop this meal replacement powder offers 25 grams of protein, 8 grams of fiber, 24 vitamins and minerals and oat beta-glucan which is a naturally occurring, low-glycemic soluble fiber found in oat brand, supporting healthy blood glucose levels. I don’t use this all the time, as I’m not a HUGE fan of the long ingredient label and I enjoy my whey protein powder for protein in my smoothies and oatmeal, however this is a great alternative for a low-calorie milkshake, that tastes good.

GNC Total Lean Lean Shake 25 comes in many flavors including vanilla bean, Swiss chocolate, french vanilla, cookies & cream, chocolate and peanut butter, banana, mixed berry, strawberries & cream and blueberries & cream. This is a meal replacement, so using with healthy eating and exercise will be most effective in metabolism and weight management. This is awesome to use after a hard cardio workout or lifting for the high protein content and only 200 calories per scoop. It is rather sweet so I don’t use any sweeteners when making my shakes.
