School supply shopping is always last for me to shop for as we have to wait until the school sends our child’s teachers name with school supply list in the mail. And trust me they wait last minute. It’s aggravating as I rely on organization and like to have all my shopping finished early when stock is full. Zoe is easy to shop for but since Gavyn is going into 6th grade I can only imagine what kind of list he’s going to have. A gazillion folders, notebooks, #2 pencils, ball point pens possibly erasable, sharpies, an agenda book and composition notebooks are my guesses as to what he’ll need but I have no clue.
Luckily, we’ll be stocked up with BIC’s 2013 back-to-school must-haves. The BIC lineup includes something for all students to accomplish all school writing tasks, all while writing with fun stylish and colorful writing tools.
BIC 2013 Back-to-School Must-Haves
BIC Tech 2-in-1 Stylus and Pen: This medium point pen is a lightweight pen and stylus which is a metallic blue color. It can be used on touchscreens including tablets and smartphones to glide easily across the screen so no fingers are necessary. The rubber pad for use on the stylus works well for screen touches, scrolling etc. Not only is this handy to use when using touchscreen it can be used as a pen. The ball point pen is retractable featuring Easy-Glide System ink- BIC’s exclusive ink technology for smooth writing. This pen writes nice and neat in black ink, ideal for writing in school. This pen has actually become my favorite, carrying it with me everywhere. I make shopping lists on my phone so being able to cross off my list as I go without my finger is a huge plus. But the kids love it too. More colors available. Single packs retail for $4.99 and 2-packs for $7.97
BIC Automatic Mechanical Pencil: These trendy #2 pencils look very similar to a pen but they are actually a mechanical pencil. This is a one-click pencil to advance lead and the top has a very cool twistable eraser; one twist and you’re on your way to erasing your mistakes. When finished using and to save on lead just click the top of the clip and the lead retracts. The pencils are comfortable to write with and include refills. Singles packs $3.29 two-packs $5.99
BIC for Her Gel and Marker Pens: These pens scream girl. With their purple/pink colors in assorted ink colors, every woman would love these elegant pens. The gel pens are a medium ink pen, writing in beautiful smooth vivid writing. The pen retracts with a simple push of the button and is comfortable to hold onto. The marker pens are just that, they write like a pen but appear like a marker when writing. This fine point marker writes smooth in black, pink and purple ink and I had no issues with bleed through on the paper’s I’ve used them on. I also like that the pens have a lid plus do not smear when writing. The floral embossing makes this a stylish functional pen.
BIC Brite Liner Highlighter Tape: This is the first time I have ever heard of and tried highlighter tape. They arrive in a florescent transparent dispenser and is easy to use, although it took me a few times with practice. At first, I wasn’t pushing as hard as I should so the highlighter was missing areas on my paper.
To use you’ll twist the cap, position the tip at an angle over the area you want highlighted and press firmly moving left to right to highlight anything; papers, textbooks, magazines, documents etc. It doesn’t bleed through paper, can be removed easily and won’t smudge writing on paper. It does apply dry as well so as soon as you highlight that is it. No dry time! It is very bright just like highlighter colors we are familiar with. Available in pink or yellow. I’m still a fan of regular highlighters. I like the convenience of these but they don’t work perfect each time like a marker highlighter.
BIC Round Stic Grip: This is the standard ball point pen many of us already have just modernized with a new look in fun assorted ink colors of purple, pink, turquoise and lime green. The medium points offer writing every time. The round lightweight style provides comfort and caps to put back on ink. This is an affordable back to school pen as 8 packs retail for $2.19, making them only .27 per pen, but I’m sure you’ll find a great sale on them!
BIC Z4+Roller: The .7 mm fine point pens are an attractive looking pen, with comfort grip and lid. The pens have liquid ink for smooth writing. These write like a marker. I did have some smudge issues, so I highly recommend allowing to dry (only seconds) before touching. Available in black, blue and assorted colors.
BIC Neon Inks: Hello neon writing tool. No these are not highlighters they are fine point pens writing in vivid neon colors; pink, purple, green, orange and blue. There is a visible ink supply and comfort rubber grip. They write nice and even with the fine point. These are FUN and bright! Perfect since neon clothing styles are the happening trend this year.
