Super Mario has been a hit in our home since we purchased our Wii. I grew up playing Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo, and now the kids enjoy collecting coins, smashing bricks, trying to save Princess Toadstool. Now the virtual game comes to life with the all new K’NEX Super Mario 3DLand Prongo building set.
The 208 piece set will keep kid’s engaged while building the set complete with pipes, flags, coins, jump panels, buildable Tanooki Mario all while battling enemy Prongo.
This set was more complex for the kids to build but exciting as it has multi-level platforms for different game levels and a secret room. Kids will create the Prongo building set using K’NEX connectors, rods, bricks and more.
This set uses panels to complete the floor and walls for the secret room and it is all connected with rods and connectors to make it appear like a 3D platform. Once constructed children will take their Tanooki Mario on a mission, collecting coins, sliding down the exit flagpole, emerging from the pipe, using the jump to get to the upper levels and making his way to the secret room.
They’ll have to be careful as Prongo is there ready to head-butt Mario with his spiked head.
This set took some time to fully assemble but once built the kids spent the afternoon playing together. With teamwork and cooperation they were able to build fully. They took turns being Mario while the other was Prongo. It was neat watching the 3D game come to life in our home with this building set.
It is a bit more challenging than other sets we have built and is recommended for children 8+. Once built it is durable so children will enjoy playing with it.
