Van’s Natural Foods sent complimentary products for review purposes, all opinions 100% my own.
A few years ago my older brother was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. He found out he would need to follow a gluten-free lifestyle but wasn’t sure how to do this. With much research, he was able to remove gluten from his diet by finding fabulous products on shelves, he has been doing wonderful. Van’s Natural Foods recently reached out for me to check out a few of their gluten free snacks and I said yes. I’m very familiar with the Van’s brand as I’m loyal to their 8 whole grains and organic blueberry frozen waffles. I wasn’t familiar with the other products they had so was intrigued.
Van’s has expanded their line of healthy foods bringing us gluten-free crackers, cereals and snack bars. The products I received are:
The Perfect 10 Cracker: This baked cracker is created with six whole grains and four seeds. Made with Van’s whole grain blend of brown rice flour, oats, millet, quinoa, amaranth and teff with added seeds of flax, sunflower, poppy and caraway. This cracker is crispy with the perfect amount of salt and seasonings, ideal with cheese, dipping or alone. They taste amazingly good and contain a full serving of whole grains. This all natural product is a snack you can smile about, giving you a crunchy treat that is flavorsome.
Fire-Roasted Veggie Cracker: Baked crackers full of flavor. The fire-roasted veggie crackers also contain Van’s whole grain blend which is gluten-free, loaded with whole grains. To give this a fire roasted flavor Van’s added in spices such as dried red pepper, dried carrot, sun dried tomatoes and spices. They are crispy and crunchy. This cracker has been a snack cracker I reach for often. I enjoy with a side of grapes and cheese. This and the perfect 10 would be a hit on a cheese and meat platter.
Say Cheese! Snack Pack Crackers: I have two children that enjoy cheese flavored baked crackers, though I’m not an admirer due to an ingredient label I can’t pronounce. Not with Van’s. Van’s Say Cheese! Crackers are in perfectly portioned 1 ounce size snack pack packages perfect for on-the-go snacks or for the kid’s lunch box. Made with Van’s whole grain blend with a rich cheddar flavor and no artificial anything. I was also pleased these contain no hydrogenated or GMO oil. The crackers have become my very picky 11 year old son’s snack of choice, saying to always keep them in the pantry.
Cranberry Almond Snack Bars: I am a cereal bar lover but haven’t had them in a long time. They are ideal to keep in my purse for a quick snack when out and about. Van’s cranberry almond snack bars are tasty with 4 grams of fiber per bar and 10 grams of whole grains. Van’s adds in gluten free whole oats and flax seed for a fiber rich bar. I couldn’t wait to open one of these up. One word…AMAZING. This bar is not large but thick, topped with almonds and chunks of dried cranberries throughout. They are not overly sweet plus I love that Van’s uses sweeteners such as brown rice syrup, invert cane sugar and fig paste making these naturally sweet. This chewy snack bar is a tasty treat reminding me of a mini baked bread…but wholesome!
Cinnamon Heaven Cereal: Cereal or oatmeal are my go-to breakfasts on crazy busy mornings when I don’t have much time to prepare a hot breakfast. I’m a healthy breakfast cereal person where I add in nuts and fresh berries to make my cereal more nutritious and fulfilling. This all-natural cereal offers 17grams of whole grains with five blends of oats, brown rice, millet, and quinoa and amaranth flours. It is also high in fiber. This lightly sweetened cinnamon flavored cereal is sweetened with cane sugar without artificial colors of flavors. I’m so happy to find a healthier alternative to one of my kids favored flavors of cereal. This is great in a bowl of milk, topped in yogurt with added fruit or in a bag with dried fruits, nuts and seeds. Only 120 calories for ¾ cup serving.
All foods I received from Van’s Natural Foods are gluten-free and tasty. Some gluten free brands we have tried in the past were not appetizing. But these are foods I would highly recommend if living a gluten-free lifestyle. Even if you aren’t they are full of nutrition you’ll love and ingredient labels you’ll enjoy. Van’s is proud of their ingredients and they should be.
