Healthy Breakfast Burrito Recipe

I love a filling breakfast food any time of the day. That’s what makes breakfast foods so good. You can eat them for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner, they taste good any time. Before living a healthier lifestyle, crap filled omelets, breakfast burritos and breakfast sandwiches were my nemesis. Not anymore. Now I fill with vegetables, healthy fats and eggs.

Healthy Breakfast Burrito Recipe

This healthy breakfast burrito is filling, protein packed and absolutely delicious! A very basic one but experiment with yours. Add black beans, mushrooms, salsa or different veg you may enjoy and you can have a different meal several times a week. They are simple to make, quick and a nutritious start to your day.

A healthy breakfast burrito filled with onion, green peppers and spinach in a Flatout wrap

  • 1 large egg
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon skim milk
  • black pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 sliced cooked and crumbled low-sodium turkey bacon
  • ¼ cup green bell pepper
  • 3 tablespoon sweet onion-diced
  • handful baby spinach
  • Flatout Light Original Flatbread
  • 2 tablespoon park-skim shredded mozzarella cheese
  1. Heat skillet to medium heat.
  2. Add olive oil.
  3. In a bowl, add egg, egg whites and milk. Lightly whisk.
  4. Add onion and green pepper to skillet. Cook til lightly golden brown.
  5. Add egg mixture and scramble in skillet til set.
  6. Add bacon, spinach and black pepper. Stir continuously until spinach wilts.
  7. Add scrambled egg and veg to Flatout wrap, sprinkle with mozzarella.
  8. Roll up and enjoy with a side of berries.
