List of words for parents to keep children safe
MMO: Massively Multiplayer Online Game. Kids are playing online which means kids are playing with strangers, so it is important to understand what games your child is playing and what parental controls are associated with the game.
Free to Play: This does NOT mean free. Things inside the game such as levels, cost money. Think Candy Crush:) Set credit card limits on devices and set passwords!
Profile: Check your kids’ profiles for publicly facing information: Do not include ages, phone numbers, addresses. Keep off that information in profiles to keep your child safe.
Friends List: You kids’ friends list are not always friendly. Check this often and ask who they are. Look at those friends to see who they are. Shut these off in parental controls.
Fun: If we as parents do not think it is fun, kids do so let them play the games they feel are fun. Video games are fun and can be fun for the entire family.
