Free Coloring Book Printable Brushing Fun with Tom's of MaineDental health is one area I stress in my household. My parents didn’t take me to the dentist as they should have when I was younger and now I’m paying. A few years back I had surgery due to a receding gum line from early stages of periodontal disease. Something I NEVER want my children to have to experience.

Both of my children know the importance of dental health and what can happen if they do not take care of their teeth. Gavyn is older now (11), so has this tooth brushing thing down, but Zoe (6) still wants to rush. I constantly explain that if she doesn’t floss and brush for the recommended time, she can get cavities or worse yet tooth decay.

That’s why this February we discuss everything again as February is National Children’s Dental Health month. Good oral hygiene is important so we discuss how those cavities can happen and what foods and drinks can put them at risk for tooth decay. They know brushing twice a day for two minutes is mandatory as well as flossing before bed. Unfortunately, I still have to supervise Zoe to make sure she is correctly brushing but I rather supervise then have her at risk for mouth problems now or later in life.
She is a big fan of Tom’s of Maine Silly Strawberry toothpaste. The light strawberry flavor, cleans her teeth in a safe way, without tears. It is the only toothpaste for kids you’ll find in my home.

And Zoe’s favorite toothpaste brand is doing good during oral health care month. Tom’s of Maine, is teaming up with Oral Health America (OHA) to shine a light on healthy habits and oral care prevention. Starting today, Tom’s of Maine is inviting kids and parents to get creative and learn about natural oral care with a new coloring book called “Brushing Fun.”
