Planning your summer vacation and looking for somewhere that will appeal to all your kids, no matter what their age? You’re not alone. Thousands of other moms across America are beginning to make some really important decisions about where they will go on their summer vacation this year. When your kids are young it’s easy, but the older they get, the more they start expressing opinions about where they want to travel to! Over the years, I’ve found that holidays to Mexico have been a great choice for me and the kids, as it offers so much to children of all ages and their parents. But why should you choose Mexico this summer?
One thing I’ve always found about Mexico is that the weather is pretty reliable, depending on where and when you travel. The dry season is the warmest time to travel there, but be wary of any hurricanes: hurricane season coincides with the summer holiday season and lasts from June until November. Although at certain times of the year the heat is sweltering, so check the weather for the region you are traveling to before you book.
Let’s not beat around the bush about this: Mexico is a beautiful country; in fact, more beautiful than many people expect. The country is full of architecture, ancient ruins, colorful festivals and locals that will treat you as if you were their own son or daughter. In fact, the culture in Mexico is very family-oriented, which means that they love children, and there is always something that young travelers can enjoy on vacation.
When most parents think of Mexico, they probably think of the beaches of Cancun (in all their majesty!), or the straw-roofed cabanas and assorted palm trees of Tulum. Mexico offers so much more than just a sun tan, however, and this is why it’s so good for kids. Children of all ages can go swimming, snorkeling, fishing and explore cultural sites such as El Hijo Pródigo zoo, which is home to some pretty cool jaguars.
There are plenty of opportunities for children to explore, have fun, and more importantly learn something about the country while on holiday in Mexico, which gives us busy and tired moms the chance to kick back, relax and unwind.
So, why risk go somewhere that the kids might not enjoy this year? Book a holiday to Mexico this summer instead and introduce them to this fantastic country.
