From before baby arrives in the world, we as parents want the best toys and gear for them. Newborns primarily eat and sleep but you’ll want to keep baby captivated with colors, sights and sounds by playing. Brightly colored mobiles, infant play mats and soothing toys that play music are excellent first toys. Infants are curious little things with their imaginations, senses and self-expression developing daily.
Activity play gyms may not be a must have item, but they sure do come in handy. The Tiny Love Gymini Developlace grows with your baby!
The Gymini Developlace is for newborn to toddlers with 5 modes of play that adjusts as your baby grows. This brightly colored activity center has an oversized mat (53” x 32”) with adorable nature graphics including smiling frogs, happy squirrels, ladybugs and more.
The mat also has a peek-a-boo leaf that flips up for baby to hear crinkly sounds when pulled or touched. There are many baby toys included such as the soft rattle ball, frog rattle, mirror, crinkly play pal and learning cards that can all be attached to the hooks on the gym for baby to reach. Once baby can fully see, they’ll want to begin reaching for these objects!
This activity center is a play mat for newborns where the mat can be fully down. The next stage, 2+ months is a tummy time mat, where one side can be lifted so baby can see the wall in front of them. Next is 7+ months, a super fun crawling tunnel!
Both sides can be lifted, for an entertaining tunnel for baby to crawl in. By this age, many babies may be creeping or possibly crawling! This is the age where little one’s enjoy looking at objects, exploring everything around them. The crawling tunnel is perfect to place a toy at one side and watch baby scoot towards the other side of the tunnel for that object. The last stage, for babies 10+ months, is a learning activity wall. This mat has a ton of features for your “almost” toddler to explore. With the walls up, he/she can crawl inside or explore the outside walls that includes a netted pocket to place items in, a peek-a-boo window to play peek-a-boo together and teach with the learning cards.
Our friends 6 month old tried out the Developlace and was a content little guy the entire time.
He isn’t crawling just yet, but really loved reaching for the play pal. The crinkle sounds kept him steadily grabbing the play pal. He also enjoyed grabbing the leaf and looking for it as he rolled on it.
I appreciate that this grows with baby keeping the environment closed and comfy for newborns, to open as they get a bit older with many activities and games to stay engaged. This is an ideal tummy time mat as well. Best of all? No batteries required. All noises come from baby touching the activity toys or laughter from seeing themselves!
Even my kitties found it a comforting resting place
