With hosting many family get-togethers, birthday parties and pool parties over the summer, not to mention holidays, many identify us as the “grilling out” family. Unless the weather doesn’t permit us to be outdoors, you can guarantee we will be outdoors grilling. This includes everything from pork chops, to sausage, kabobs, hot dogs, delicious burgers, even side dishes such as potatoes and vegetables! Because so many people arrive, oftentimes we purchase frozen beef patties, however I have never been a fan of the not so fresh taste and how much a frozen burger shrivels up. Even the low quality burger buns are too large for a frozen burger. Until now.
At the beginning of the year, I was part of the Ball Park Men. Easier Fed Than Understood campaign. The campaign was bringing light to the quirky and sometimes nonsensical behavior of the guys in our life. I shared many stories, a comforting recipe and much more. The kind folks at Ball Park sent me a coupon to try the new Flame Grilled Patties. Yes you read that correct. Ball Park has expanded beyond hot dogs, now giving families 100% real flame grilled beef patties that are fully cooked and have the “just off the grill taste.”
I visited the store checking out each variety available including Flame Grilled Beef Patty, Flame Grilled Beef & Cheese Patty and Flame Grilled Beef & Onion Patty. I chose the flame grilled beef patty without any additional flavors as that is what our family prefers. You could call us plain Jane’s. I couldn’t wait to try these because like I said there really isn’t a frozen patty I enjoy.
The 6 count patties are packaged in a resealable bag, can be microwaved, and cooked in a skillet or on the grill. I was interested in microwaving the patty first to see if it would still have that grilled taste. First glance of the patties, you’ll see they are a decent size, a burger you’d want to consume. I followed the instructions, popped the burger in the microwave and a little over a minute later my burger was ready; straight out of the microwave. They were rather greasy out of the microwave however it tasted excitingly good, and definitely had a grilled flavor to it. But I wanted mine grilled; it’s a necessity with a burger. After about 8 minutes or so my burger was ready to be piled high with toppings and devoured by me.
Again, a bit greasy (just place on a paper towel for a few seconds), but the beef patty had a satisfying flavor that’s lightly seasoned, looked like a genuine patty that I prepared myself and only took minutes. There are times I crave a juicy burger, but going to the store to purchase fresh ground beef, add my seasonings etc. is not convenient. Well Ball Park Flame Grilled Patties gave me convenience, a flavorful, juicy patty that didn’t shrink much that was ready in minutes. Now anytime I crave that burger, I just pull one out and heat it. The night I made these, nobody guessed they were a frozen burger. They knew they weren’t my homemade but they are definitely second best. Ball Park Flame Grilled Beef Patties will always be stocked in my freezer. I’m thrilled there is now a frozen burger I can turn to when frozen is the option we choose. This is a fabulous guy food ladies! Buy them, the men in your life will love them (psst so will you!)
