If you follow me on Instagram, you have probably come to the assumption that I’m berry addicted. It doesn’t matter what kind, I crave them. We have a blackberry bush in our yard finally getting green berries, ready to be picked next month. Strawberries though are a huge obsession, I eat them constantly.
Summer fruits (any of them) are amazingly delicious and I have another addiction; cherries. Something about the tartness makes me reach for them. I picked up 2 lbs. a few days ago and have been eating them by the handfuls, in smoothies, oatmeal and juicing them.
This protein smoothie recipe combines some of my favorite summer fruits, in a delicious creamy smoothie, ideal for fruit lovers that also love chocolate. The chocolate protein powder in this chocolate cherry berry peach protein smoothie is light as is the peach. The combination of cherries and chocolate is yummy.
Whip this up for breakfast or pre or post-workout to have a satisfying drink.
What is your favorite summer fruit?
- 1/2 cup unsweetened plain almond milk
- 1 medium peach
- 10 cherries-pitted
- 1 cup whole strawberries (about 10)
- 1 scoop whey chocolate protein powder
- 1-2 cups ice
