I do not care to sit there with several men who chit chat about nothing and listen to them and their comical silly conversations.  Why would I want to listen to sports stats, work (many work at the same business), and events that happened years ago?   So instead of listening to them, I am in the kitchen preparing to feed them so they can stay strong while making my home beautiful.

Ball Park hot dogs are always stocked in my freezer for convenient meals as well as buns just in case.  They all love hot dogs topped with ketchup, mustard, relish and onions because who doesn’t love hot dogs? They are a favorite of Americans!  We are big fans of grilled hot dogs, as well as chili cheese dogs but I also like to make large crowd pleasing meals when many are over, and one of those recipes is my chili mac and cheese hot dog casserole.  This is desired for those who come to my home for sporting events, hanging out or helping with our home.  It has everything everyone loves; my basic chili, 3 cheese macaroni and cheese, hot dogs all topped with crinkle cut fries.  This is an all-in-one meal that leaves belly’s full and every single one of them happy and is definitely kid-friendly for the children.

It is rather time consuming but if you have left over chili it is quick.

If you decide to give this a try, make the chili a day ahead of time it will save you so much time.

This recipe can be made with your favorite Ball Park franks including original franks, deli style or better for you varieties including turkey franks, Angus beef or lite.  Ball Park has men covered even if we will never understand them.  I do agree that men are much easier fed then understood!

Chili mac and cheese hot dog casserole topped with crinkle cut french fries

Ingredients

• 4 cups Macaroni and Cheese
• 4 cups Chili
• 4 Ball Park Hot Dogs- We used Ball Park Angus Beef
• 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
• Crinkle Cut french fries

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350
2. Grease a 2 quart casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray
3. Layer the casserole as follows:
4. Two cups macaroni and cheese
5. Two cups chili
6. Two hot dogs sliced thin
7. Two cup cheddar cheese
8. Repeat the layers
9. Top with crinkle cut fries so the entire top is covered
10. Bake 45 minutes.
11. Set oven to broil 400
12. Broil until fries are golden brown about 5 minutes.
13. Remove from oven and let rest 10 minutes.

Notes

Make chili a day ahead of time and prepare macaroni and cheese before baking this in the oven. Do not bake the macaroni and cheese after preparing on stove top.

For over 10 years, Incredible Science has been bringing families exciting science experiments and educational toys for children and adults which are high quality and the the Glow-in-the-Dark Lab is just that!  This science lab kit has 20 illuminating projects all with a booklet and all experiments glow-in-the-dark.  The lab book is informative describing why things glow in the dark and gives children hands on experience creating slime, volcanos, creatures, dough, crystals and much more.  The kit arrives with most of the equipment needed to get started.  A few experiments do require ingredients which can be found in the home such as flour, baking soda, white glue and water, however a few do require items you may not have such as Borax, tonic water and alum.

The kids were eager about making their own bouncy balls that glow, so that was the first assignment we attempted.  With straightforward step-by-step instructions including all ingredients and equipment we were ready to make our bouncy glow balls.  In a little over 10 minutes the children were ecstatic to open the bouncy ball mold to see if they succeeded, at by golly they did!  The balls were rather sticky at first, but they dried quickly after we rubbed them smooth.  In no time the kids were running around, bouncing the balls they made all over the house.  I appreciate that the lab book asks what is going on with the ball and explains what elasticity is, so they are learning, creating and experimenting all in one.  Furthermore it explains the principals of the project focusing on 3 principals of the book. For this experiment we were learning the principals of Phosphorescence and polymers.  This was a neat project and my kids loved it.

They then decided they wanted to make the Glow Dough which is homemade Play-Doh that glows.  Nothing unusual as we have made dough at home numerous times, however we have never had it glow.  The dough was simple to make out of pantry ingredients such as flour, salt, cornstarch and water.  The lab books explains how much of each ingredient is needed and again easy step-by-step instructions.  After mixing away and kneading the dough the kids were requesting a few of their molds to use as cut outs.  The dough was sticky at first but soon dried out and was pliable for the kids to use.  The pictures are not the greatest but the glow is neat.  This glows with glow powder which is included in the lab kit and there is also a black-light activator to shine on the dough.

The last experiment I will talk about is the super fun glow snow.  What a perfect time to make since it is winter.  This was quick to make with only 3 ingredients.  Again, I like how the book asks questions while doing this.  “Does it puff up?”  This is asked after the fluorescent water is added to the mixture.  The kids enjoyed observing the snow.  Then we turned the lights off to see if it would glow.  They couldn’t wait to touch it, and the book does state it is safe so in with their hands they went.  I thought this snow was clever as it puffed up and got cold.  It was a fluffy snow like material which was very light and airy.

We have since done a few more projects in the book and we have had an enjoyable time doing all of them.  It is exciting waiting to see if they’ll function (which all have) and seeing the kid’s eyes once the assignment is complete.  This science lab for kids includes everything to have a home science lab.  I should state just to be clear, that most of the projects do have everything in the kit to make, only a few require additional ingredients which may or may not need to be purchased.  Everything is educational, fun and fascinating for children and adults.  The black light activator can be used on each project to get the glow livelier.
