Discuss Safe Medicine Storage with Kids Free Printable Coloring Sheets

In 2011, I attended a Twitter chat that discussed the Up and Away and Out of Sight program.  This is an educational program with tools to help parents, caregivers and adults everything they need to remember to keep medicines and vitamins up and away and out of sight; keeping kids safe. You can read my entire article here.

I would highly recommend taking a look at all the tools available because did you know more than 60,000 young children end up in emergency departments every year because they got into medicines while their parent or caregiver was not looking? Very scary statistics. But with the tools, tips and these coloring pages, we can keep our kids safe.

up and away coloring sheets

The free printable coloring pages have parent tips and tips for children. Included is an Up and Away Medication Safety Tip Sheet. While the kids are coloring read to them the importance of keeping medicine up and away. Safe medicine storage is an important discussion we should all be having with our kids.

  1. I keep my medication WAY out of reach. Even I can barely reach it LOL.

  2. Thanks for the printables Nichol?

  3. Thanks for the printables!!

We have our meds in a rubbermaid box (that I can barely pry open) on the very top shelf in our bathroom. Even I have to have a stool to get to it!

  4. This is soooooo important!

  5. Thanks for sharing this coloring sheet.

We have those Dr. Yuck or maybe it’s Mr. Yuck stickers that we put on all bottles. If the kids see a green sticker, they know it’s not good for them.

  6. Love printables! My kids are tall, so we have to be creative with storing anything unsafe for them. Great idea.

  7. Those coloring sheets are a fun way to mix in education while the kids are coloring.

  8. Coloring pages from online places are awesome – I usually search them out. Thanks for this post!
