Hasbro provided products for review purposes, all opinions 100% my own.
After-school time seems to be the most hectic time in our home. We have to get homework completed, read for 15 minutes, dinner gets prepared, the kids play with friends and oftentimes after school activities. There is never a chance to sit once school has let out for the day. Since I’m running around trying to feed hungry bellies, Zoe and Gav 99% of the time are playing with friends for a couple of hours before dinner is served.
Since I’m so busy )and I’m sure you are too), it is important to make sure the children are playing. I like to have fun things for the children to do. Usually Zoe and her friends play with toys, board games, with dolls or color while Gav and his friends are playing on the PS3, out having NERF wars or riding bikes. Playtime is important for children of all ages as it is essential in their development, in building social skills and using their imaginations. Children have just sat for a long 6+ hours in school, let them play.
And Hasbro has kids of all ages covered when it comes to after-school fun. From exciting board games, to interactive toys and dolls and creative toys, children will find something they are going to love playing with.
Toys for Girls
My Little Pony Equestria Girls Dolls that Rock
Any My Little Pony fan is sure to love these pony dolls as they look like typical fashion dolls with a bit of pony in them. But they are now much better as they sing! Singing Twilight Sparkle arrives with a microphone, stand and wings, ready to rock out.
She is beautiful featuring mostly purple and pink in color. She sings by pressing her hand forward. She is recommended for children age 5+. Get Pinkie Pie and they can sing together! Buy online at Hasbro.
Baby Alive Brushy Brush Baby Doll
This Baby Alive doll is perfect for role play teaching children to get their baby ready for bed. She arrives with toothpaste, a toothbrush that actually spins, bottle and diaper. Children will love feeding their Brushy Brush Baby Alive doll before bedtime and changing her wet diaper so she can go to sleep dry.
Before she goes to sleep it will be time to apply the pretend toothpaste to her toothbrush and press the button to brush her teeth.
This baby doll will have children pretending to be mommy or a babysitter, enhancing their fine motor skills as well as social skills by interacting with her. She is recommended for children 3+. Visit Hasbro to learn more.
Littlest Pet Shop Blyth Bedroom Style Set
Girls are going to love building and designing Blythe’s bedroom. This set arrives with over 95 pieces that will have children creating the style set by snapping pieces together to create her bedroom. They’ll add stickers and Deco Bits to the set to customize the room. The room is fully closed once built with panels that glide easily into the walls however the room does open or she can walk out the door onto the fun balcony with flowers! Once built it is time to get creative and decorate the space, in and out! There is furniture including a bed, chair, table, lamp, light fixture and more to be added. This set is complete with the addition of a Blythe doll and pet. We love that this set can be customized any way the child wants and really love the outdoor balcony.
Zoe has loved rearranging the room and changing the Deco Bits out to different places. More styles sets are available to create a full Littlest Pet Shop World. Need more fun? Check out the Your World App to design your world digitally with the included pet or doll. They each have a unique code to scan them and bring them to life by playing games and unlocking new rooms & accessories. Littlest Pet Shop app works with iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and select Android devices. Learn more at LittlestPetShop.com.
Toys for Boys
Play-DOH Diggin’ Rigs Boomer the Fire Truck Playset
This Play-DOH set isn’t necessarily just for boys because my daughter LOVES IT, however since it is a fire truck let’s just stick with the boys on this one. This fire truck Play-Doh set is super cool allowing children to create a scene so Boomer can save the day. The set included the vehicle with fire extinguisher mold, plastic fire axe, 2 stampers (fire and hammer), and blue & red Play-Doh.
Play-Doh can be added to the play ladder water area (which really rotates) and pressed out, making it look like streams of water, to put out those fires.
The mold which comes out of the head can make fire extinguisher shapes and the molds to make fire and hammers or maybe they are axes.
There is also a plastic axe. Fun for creative play or just to push around! Recommended for children 3+. Learn more at Hasbro.
NERF N-Strike Elite Precision Target Set
I’m not sure if you all know, but my son is a NERF addict. When I spring cleaned his bedroom a while back I was shocked at all the NERF blasters he had. The Precision Target Set includes the NERF Firestrike Blaster, target and 10 suction darts. Children will practice their target with this set. The blaster has a tactical rail, light beam trigger and precision light beam (2 AAA batteries needed, not included) that works with targets up to 15 feet!
Gavyn is fairly good with his aim but has been practicing a lot with this, especially in the evening sitting on the couch. He’ll place the target on the TV stand and shoot away.
This also works by hanging on a door, ideal for the bedroom. Gavyn and his friends have really enjoyed practicing their target aim with this. Recommended for children 8+. Learn more and buy at Hasbro.
Games for the Family
Family time is important, so if you have a chance play some board games together, even if it is in the evening once the after-school craziness dyes down.
Scrabble Electronic Scoring Game
Scrabble is one of our favorite games to play. Even Zoe gets in on the action creating words trying to score the highest in the game. Love scrabble but dislike keeping score? This game is for you! This Scrabble game makes scoring easy with the handheld scoring unit. This unit also includes a timer option to make game play faster and a highest word feature letting you know when you’ve scored the highest for a word. The game has the game board, plastic tiles which are larger and red, letter bag and tile racks.
Don’t forget to get the Scrabble Dictionary to make finding a word easy! My seven year old beat me as she found a triple word with the “Q” giving her over 38 points on one word. She also loved that she could keep score as the electronic score does everything for you, score keeper just presses a button to add the points! Buy now on Hasbro.
My Monopoly Game
Monopoly just got personal! Take away traditional Monopoly because the My Monopoly Game can be personalized by customizing property spaces, game tokens, chance and community chest cards to feature you or your favorite people, places and things. We haven’t had a chance to personalize yet as my printer is out of ink but images can be made via the computer, Facebook, Instagram, from devices etc. and printed out in the comfort of your home on the included sticker sheets. We love that we can add our face to tiles to use on our tokens, customize streets and so much more.
The game is played like the classic Monopoly, you want to have the most money however property cards are new and they tell you how much houses/hotels cost and how much rent you will receive if players land on your property. If you are low on money there are ways to get money such as selling hotels and houses, mortgaging a proper and other things. I think we are going to wait to customize this and make a fully customized Christmas Monopoly and play our traditional game all decked out. Super fun! $19.99 visit Hasbro.
So tell me, what do you do for after-school fun?
