When I had a daughter I was thrilled. I would have my real life baby doll that I could dress up, style her hair, play dolls, attempt crafts, give many hugs and kisses, paint her fingernails, and so much more. What I wasn’t prepared for was the constant whining, but that is for another post. Zoe is a girly girl, and loves to be pampered. On days I straighten my hair, she wants to be just like me. I paint my finger and toenails, and again she is pulling out her stock of Piggy Paint waiting for her turn. Ever since I was introduced to the Piggy Paint line, I have never used my harsh chemicals on her. Piggy Paint is natural, eco-friendly and non-toxic nail polish for girls. With vibrant colors, pastel colors, even glow in the dark, this line is the perfect line to paint our girls nails. I have done several reviews in the past, purchased a few colors since then, and to this day I am still a fan, as are celebrities like Tori Spelling, Jessica Alba, and Lisa Rinna to name a few. Piggy Paint made its way to Hollywood at Tori Spelling daughters first birthday. The story behind Piggy Paint is remarkable and shocking. One day, the founder of Piggy Paint Melanie, was painting her daughters nails. A drop of solvent based polish fell onto a foam plate, and ate right through it. Melanie decided that was unacceptable and made the kid-friendly polishes which are not flammable, water based, and DO NOT eat through a foam plate.
I recently had the opportunity to review Piggy Paint again. Zoe was thrilled to pick a couple colors she didn’t have already. She chose Ice Cream Dream and Mac-n-Cheese Please. Both are fun vibrant colors so we could not wait to paint them on her nails. The Ice Cream Dream is a dark green color which has a sparkly touch to it. Last weekend at Gavyn’s party, everyone commented on her “beautiful piggies”. The color is fun, quite intense with two coats, and a color that is seen from ways away. The Mac-n-Cheese Please is a vibrant pumpkin orange color. The first coat of this was light so we followed with a second coat, and the vibrancy came out. This would be the perfect color for fall. There are many reasons we are ecstatic to use Piggy Paint in our home. First, these are a water based nail polish, a wonderful alternative to solvent based polishes. There are no odors or chemicals which means non-toxic. Piggy Paint is free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, Bisphenol A, ethyl acetate and acetone. The names of the polishes are also unique for all their lines, and it dries quickly and is durable. I do recommend purchasing their top coat for longer lasting polish and shine.
Piggy Paint also has their Project Earth line which is formulated for teens and are available in neon colors, including the glow in the dark. If that isn’t enough, you can find Puppy Paint as well, nail polish for dogs, to paint the piggies of your precious animal babies. Oh I should mention their adult line as well. More subtle colors for women, and is safe for pregnant moms. Be sure to pick up a bottle of their polish remover to remove the polish and add a new color. Piggy Paint is child tested and mom approved!
