This giveaway has ended. Congratulations comment #21 April @ PolkaDots n’ PinkySwears
Many of you may not know it, but I love to cook. It’s a long time passion I have, and it brings me great joy when I accomplish a new meal for my family. I used to stand on a chair and watch my mom cook almost every meal possible. Whether she was whipping up some eggs and pancakes for breakfast, sloppy joes, meatloaf, roast beef, or macaroni and cheese for dinner, or just a basic sandwich, my eyes were glued. I wanted to know every step possible, so I would master cooking when it was time to move out. My mom also explained to me that good cookware is the only cookware to purchase. Never purchase pots and pans that are light in weight, don’t get the cheapest on the shelf as they will burn or make everything stick, and only purchase non stick or cast iron. Ok mom, lots of rules for cooking, but I took her advice. In all my years of cooking, I’ve had pricey non stick cookware where the bottoms scratch, flake, chip and make everything stick. So I’m not quite sure your advice was the best mom, but I’m going to give you all some amazing advice, purchase Xtrema cookware by Ceramcor.
Ceramcor came about in 2007 in Toms River, New Jersey, when the founder Rich who worked for and represented Corning Glass Works, received an email in 2004, asking if he would be interested in a new high temperature ceramic material that could go on top of the stove and under the broiler, a product that would surpass the cooking performance and benefits of the original Corning Ware.
I was sent the Xtrema 10″ Skillet to review and I have to say I’m deeply infatuated with a pan! Sorry hubby! First off this isn’t an ordinary skillet. This is a skillet that is so versatile it can be used anywhere. In the oven, stovetop, broiler, freezer, barbeque grill, microwave oven, dishwasher and the dining room table. You can actually take this straight out of the freezer, and put it right in the oven, or on top of the stove and cook immediately! What skillet can do that? Not one that I know of, except Xtrema. I had to put this to the test and cook a few meals with this within the first 2 days of owning it.
Scrambled eggs was first on the list. I do have a glass top stove, and in the care book it states to turn on the burner for 10 seconds before placing your Xtrema skillet on the burner, so I followed the direction. You also start cooking on a medium heat and once it’s fully heated, then you’ll turn it down to a low/med setting. The eggs didn’t stick one time, and came out fluffier than normal. It was like the perfect scrambled egg. Once they are finished and you take them off the burner, you will notice that they continue to cook, so I highly recommend transferring to the plates as soon as possible. I also noticed the eggs stayed warm the entire time we ate them, nothing is worse than cold eggs!
I’ve also cooked up a quite a few ground beef meals, italian sausage and delicious skillet meals. Everything I have cooked on the Xtrema skillet comes out fantastic and tastes great. Ceramic Far Infrared Cooking enhances the food Flavor and the entire cooking experience, I promise, you will notice the difference. After a few tries, you’ll perfect cooking with Xtrema.
I really admire everything about this skillet, especially that it’s ceramic. You will never find any traces of metal or harmful PTFE coating in your food and this produces no harmful PFOA gas which can occur with most popular petroleum based non-stick coatings. Trust me when I say, I’ve had many pots and pans ruin our family meals. Xtrema cookware looks brilliant, as it’s a glossy black finish, and it’s extremely durable. It is still recommended to use nylon, plastic, silicone or wooden utensils. Did I mention this is the healthiest and greenest cookware on the planet? They are handmade using natural gas, clay and water, and can withstand temperatures of 2700 F! So another eco-friendly product on my list. We are going green more and more everyday in our home, it’s a wonderful feeling.
After all of this can you see why I’m so in love? Xtrema cleans easily as well. And if you have stuck on food, that won’t budge you can use any cleaner on it, as this won’t scratch. It will just get it looking brand new. I HIGHLY recommend this skillet to anyone. It does sell for $99.99 but it’s well worth the money. And they do offer a 50 year warranty of any ceramic part of your Xtrema product that breaks from hot or cold temperatures. Our families healthy cooking, just got a whole lot healthier!
Head on over to Xtrema, and take a look around at all their incredible products. Besides cookware, you can also purchase teaware, and bakeware. I would love to try the loaf pan. Any of their items would make a great gift.
