Are you a fan of Top Chef? If so then you must make sure that you turn in tonight on Universal Kids for the premiere of Top Chef Jr! The inaugural series premiere is hosted by Vanessa Lachey. The head judge for the show is Curtis Stone.
Top Chef Jr. will feature 12 chefs ages 11 – 14 from across the country who will be competing for the Top Chef Jr. title and a $50,000 cash prize!
In addition to Vanessa and Curtis, there will be three recurring judges on the show; culinary expert and Top Chef judge Gail Simmons, Top Chef alumn Tiffany Derry, and acclaimed chef and Top Chef judge Graham Elliot.
Curtis: “Some of the kids were 3 & 4 years old. The best part is that they shared the stories on what inspired them. Some have childhood memories of baking cookies and cakes with their Moms and Grandmas”.
Vanessa added that: “Some of the kids put their parents on blast”! “They said they started cooking because their parents couldn’t cook and they had to eat”!
Vanessa: I have learned all of the different ways to incorporate cheese into recipes!Curtis: I have learned how differently the kids approach challenges and they come at it with fun and creativity. He also talked about how beautiful of a place it would be to start as a kid because sometimes our creativity gets stifled as adults.
